The Constitution of India is the largest written constitution of all the democracies in the world. [2] It currently has 4 articles and 12 schedules.
It is divided into 6 parts in total. At the time of construction, the original constitution had 4 articles, 2 parts and 2 schedules. The Constitution sets out the parliamentary structure of the Government of India, which is based on the federal system with a few exceptions.
The acting constitutional president of the supreme government at the center is the president.
According to Article 6 of the Constitution of India, the Parliamentary Council of the Center consists of the President and two chambers, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the House of Representatives directly elected by the people.
Article 2 (1) of the Constitution provides that there shall be a Cabinet to assist and advise the President headed by the Prime Minister, the President acting on the advice of this Cabinet. [3]
Every state in India also has a Legislative Assembly or Legislative Assembly which functions under the Lok Sabha. There are also upper houses in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana known as the Legislative Council.
The governor is the head of each state. While the Chief Minister is the head of the Cabinet. The cabinet is collectively decided by the legislature or assembly and acts according to the resolutions passed in that assembly and those ministers are also a part of that assembly.
The Speaker of the House is appointed separately who is responsible for the conduct of the meeting of the Legislative Assembly and he may for any reason restrict any MLA from sitting in the Legislative Assembly / Legislative Assembly for a certain period of time.
Article 7 of the Constitution describes the rights of MPs and MLAs. The Union Territories function directly under the Central Government under the direction of the Center.
Constitution Day is celebrated on November 26 every year in India. The draft Constitution of India was adopted on November 26, 1949. The Constituent Assembly drafted our constitution in 2 years 11 months and 18 days.

Even before independence, there was a discussion among the freedom fighters about constitution making. A Constituent Assembly was formed after the country gained independence.
The first sitting of the Constituent Assembly was held on December 9, 1946 in the Central Hall of the Parliament House. Only 207 members were present at the meeting that day.
The Constituent Assembly had a total of 389 members, but after the partition of the country, the number of members was reduced to 299 due to non-participation of some kingdoms in the Constituent Assembly.
